SECTION 504 GRIEVANCE PROCEDURE

Request for Bids:

The Town of Gay is requesting sealed bids to clean, prime and paint the outside of our brick Community Building, located a 19125 Highway 85 in Gay. This will include metal handrails but not aluminum window frames. Successful bidder must show proof of current insurance.

Sealed bids must be received by close of business on Monday, April 28, 2025.

Bids may be presented at city hall, located at 19125 Highway 85 in Gay on Monday, Wednesday or Friday from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM or mailed to Town of Gay, P. O. Box 257, Gay, GA 30218.

 The Town of Gay, Ga is requesting sealed bids to clean and paint the inside  of our elevated 50,000 gal. Water Storage Tank. The tank may be viewed in  Gay at 210 Caldwell Street. Successful bidder must provide proof of current  insurance.  Sealed bids must be received by Wednesday April 16, 2025 at 1:00 PM.  Bids may be delivered to City Hall at 19125 Highway 85 in Gay on Monday,  Wednesday or Friday from 9:00 AM until 4:00 PM, or mailed to Town of Gay,  P.  INTENT TO OPT OUT OF HOMESTEAD EXEMPTION

The Mayor and Council for the Town of Gay intend to opt out of the statewide adjusted base year ad valorem homestead exemption for The Town of Gay. All concerned citizens are invited to attend public hearings on this matter to be on Friday January 31, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. Times of additional public hearings on the matter are also at 6:00 p.m. on January 31 and again on Monday, February 10, 2025 at 6:00 p.m. All hearings will be conducted in the Community Building located at 19125 Highway 85 in Gay.

Immediately following homestead public hearing at 6:30pm or immediately after.

NOTICE AND CALL OF ELECTION AND QUALIFYING REQUIREMENTS

Notice is hereby given that the Town of Gay, Georgia will hold a General Election on Tuesday, November 4, 2025, for the offices of Town Council Post 2, Town Council Post 3 and Town Council Post 4. The qualifying fees will be Five Dollars ($5.00).

Candidates desiring to qualify may do so from Monday, August 18, 2025, at 9 a.m. through Friday, August 22, 2025, at 4:00 p.m., by filing a notice of his or her candidacy and paying the qualifying fee to the Town of Gay located at Gay City Hall, 19125 Hwy 85, Gay, Georgia 30218 during regular business hours M-W-F 9 a.m. – 4 p.m.

The last day to register and be eligible to vote in this election will be Monday, October 6, 2025, at the Meriwether Board of Elections located at, 137 S. Court Square, Greenville, Georgia 30222. The polls will be open on Election Day from 7 a.m. – 7 p.m. If there is the need for a run-off election, it will be held December 2, 2025.
